Mettle started rapping with his friends, as one of them had a little microphone connected to his laptop. Which they decided to record raps with it. His first song was called ‘2GG’, which he recorded at a friend’s house. At that time, Mettle didn’t make any music videos he only started doing them later after a few years.
Mettle produced about 30 plus tracks or more in the genres of Trap, Drill, RnB, and Jugg. He is hoping to do more in the future because he likes to explore. Mettle also tries to tell his story in hopes that someone else can relate. “I always try to portray meaning in my music, I want people to feel a certain way while listening,” he says. Although, his goal is also to make it as entertaining as possible. Mettle is originally from Nigeria born on January 26th 1998, living in Pretoria South Africa. His passion for rapping started when he was very young because his parents and uncles played a lot of Hip Hop growing up. Mettle was also exposed to different genres of music that were always around him and he always wanted to make music. “I just knew I had it in me,” he says. Mettle got inspired by 50Cents, Ludacris, Jay Z, Busta Rhymes, Lil Wayne etc these artists were legends to him.
He believes that most artists in today’s era case fame. Then he goes on to say that they want to get famous quick by doing extraordinary things and their music lacks substance, as in it’s just catchy. “But most artists these days collaborate a lot which is a good thing,” Mettle says. As he believes that way, they feed off each other’s energy and create something new or great, as well as it helps the industry by the artists joining their fan base together. Mettle believes that music is something that he would like to do for the rest of his life. “For me, Music is life It’s my passion and I could never let it go,” he says. Overall, he is hoping to make more music, collaborate and travel more. “My future is bright because I am ready to know that I will make it, it’s just a matter of time,” Mettle said.
